Kia has released the first teaser images of its new EV3 production crossover, sparking excitement among potential buyers of compact battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The EV3 will be officially unveiled on Thursday, May 23, and is set to go on sale later this year following its world premiere.
Drawing design inspiration from Kia’s larger award-winning EV9 SUV, the EV3 employs the brand's “Opposites United” design strategy, which allows for distinct looks and feels for each vehicle. The preview images highlight the vehicle’s front and rear, showcasing its unique aesthetic.
Kia aims to expand its customer base with the introduction of the EV3, despite the challenges posed by a static and, in some cases, declining electric car market. The EV3 will utilize the Hyundai Motor Group’s bespoke electric E-GMP platform, enabling it to support a variety of powertrains and battery sizes, catering to diverse customer needs.
