Skoda is gearing up to introduce its new electric compact SUV, the Elroq, next year. This new model will sit below the larger Enyaq and above the upcoming city SUV, the Epiq. Positioned as an electric alternative to the current Skoda Karoq SUV, the Elroq is expected to go on sale by order starting October 2, with deliveries beginning next April.
The Elroq is a mid-sized crossover based on Volkswagen’s renowned MEB platform. It will compete with models like the MG4, Hyundai Kona electric, smart#3, and Volvo EX30, with prices anticipated to start around the mid-€30,000 mark.
Skoda plans to use the Elroq to spearhead its new BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) campaign, with six battery-electric models slated for release in the coming years. Notable features of the Elroq include a spacious interior, a 470-litre boot expandable to 1,580 litres, and a new "modern solid" design language.
Inside, the Elroq boasts a driver cockpit similar to the Enyaq, a 13-inch central infotainment display, and sustainable materials like recycled PET fiber. The vehicle will offer various battery and motor configurations, including rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options, supporting DC fast-charging with different maximum rates.
For those interested in home charging solutions, Skoda offers the Skoda Charger wallbox, providing up to 11kW charging capabilities.
